What is flower psychometry?
Flower psychometry (also known as floriography or floromancy) is the study of divination with flowers. It has been practised for many centuries by different cultures including the Celts and Romany Gypsies. It became very popular in the Victorian era as a means of communicating availability for romance between potential lovers. If only this was done on dating websites nowadays it might save a lot of trouble and embarrassment!
Flower psychometry can be a very indepth subject and you can choose to read flowers in a variety of ways.
A popular method is to look at the shapes, colours and condition of the buds, leaves and blossoms. A skilled flower reader can tap into the meanings of these flower segments. For instance, a thorn on a rose could mean a difficult situation. A closed bud could be the person is not ready to yet open up and experience life to the fullest. 2 significant blossoms near the top could be a significant life partner or friend, mother, child etc in the person’s life.
A closed bud may mean a person is not yet ready to achieve their full potential
The flower can be ‘read’ from bottom to top with the roots or base of the flower being the person’s early life to the top which is where they are now. It is possible with practice to estimate the age when important events may have occured in a person’s life.
A flower psychometrist who has studied mediumship may be able to bring through a loved one from spirit with this method. This can be a great source of comfort to the person requesting the reading as our loved ones often had their favourite flowers or a love of gardening.

It is possible to delve deeper into a form of guided meditation or channelling and work with spirit guides, elementals and the deva or spirit of the flower, to ask questions about how the plant can help a person achieve their life goals, for example, or what the plant’s purpose is for humanity and how it can even help with one’s health.
